Strava local legends - lasting solutions

What does it mean to be a local legend on Strava?

The Local Legend (LCL) achievement is awarded to the athlete who completes a given segment the most over a rolling 90-day period regardless of pace or speed.

Hey guys, this is Ray from DCRAINMAKER.com, and I have a new QuickTip article on a brand new Strava feature that was rolled out to a small part of you today. Well what this feature is is that it basically gives you a high level award, similar to a KOM (or King of the Mountain) or the Queen the Mountain, or a course record on Strava for most failure.

hard fall detection

By that I mean, if you fail to win one of these awards and fail often enough, you can win the new Local Legend Award. This is exactly the kind of Strava trophy that I like since I have so few Strava KOMs. Now I'm going to go through how it all works really quickly because this is a quick tap article.

Plus, this is available to all users, so it's free or paid, which is convenient. However, there are a few minor limitations that we will talk about later. The biggest limitation that is neither free nor paid.

It will be where you are. As of today, this is only being rolled out in a handful of US states. I'll put them on the list below in a moment.

weighted ab workouts

And then in July they will be rolled out to another handful of small countries. Additionally, they don't date whenever anyone else would get it. Which is a bit of a shame but anyway

I'll show you how it works anyway. What we have here on my phone is the Strava app. The first thing you want to do is go into the Segment Explorer.

So you press the Explore button down there [Note: You need the Strava app version 154). This will take you to the segment explorer and then go ahead and hit the little settings icon in the right corner from there and then you can select Show Local Legend Segments, only when that's done you will see that there is that laurel, that is the wreath thing, that's next to a certain segment, so I choose one of the segments, we select this one down here right click on info and then you see that the local legend is listed there is an Alexander Baum crime 42 times last 90 days now the way local legends works is that it's a rolling window over the past 90 days and it's just most of the times you've tried you can do it 20 times in a given trip or once every day in the Try over 90 days if you want, doesn't matter how many attempts are counted, no matter how they are bundled together or how they are apart, it's just the number of attempts over a period of time oh hey actually a quick note, if you find this article interesting or useful or something, go ahead and just walk past d up like buttonthe bottom because it really helps this article and the channel, now i'm tapping his name right there you'll see , it shows me that all athletes are the total word he wins if he has done 42 exertions in the last 90 days and I can also look at the women's leaderboard. You can see she has returned with 20 on efforts in the last 90 days, back to the 'All Athletes' tab, although I can see my overall performance bureau in the bottom center which is the one and then below is the total effort on this histogram now for free users you see the histogram not that is what you see instead you basically just see a typical like go and pay force trama type of one thing but for paid users you see the histogram there and you will see how many Effort you have compared to the local legend on the right, it's kind of practical, but even for free users you honestly don't lack much and the same goes for the women, since I'm not a woman then I don't see my efforts in this s I draw right there and this applies to all segments, so I can come back here I can select another segment I select this one right there u nd then click on Info and you can see that person has now had a 54x over the past 90 days.

As I sifted through some of the various stats I found that the vast majority of these attempts are commuting that are simply recorded, where the person takes the exact same route every day or every other day and that makes sense, there are other instances that people do this as part of typical training rides and it usually tends to be the segments they ride would, be close to their home also applies to running, so I can switch to running right there click on Done and now I can search this area again, let's go and I can select this here directly p when you fill it out , can you see it 51 times for that particular runner i actually saw this guy out there, he runs all the time, it's amazing and in this case got it I did it three times for that special day, right now for myself as I tend to vary my routes a lot and I'm very flexible and very flexible from my home office so I don't tend to walk the exact same spot every time or driving the same place except for commuting which I don't naturally now tend to upload commuters because this article is about local legends. I'll find a place where I can become the local legend, I need to find a way to stick my laurel crown on my head and I started looking at segments close up behind it, a lot of segments looked like, in fact four diurnal selective segments trying to find something I could do with relative ease. The problem here is our so many commuters that these segments have every 30 to 40 tries on him, I didn't find one around with six tries but it was k I thought you'd appreciate this kind of lameness here, so I paused, stepped back, and said you know what I'm going to do to get this right, I'll find the greatest climb I can find here, I'll find most of the tries it takes to get to the top of the line Reach Slopelegend leaderboard and I'll do it for you so I wandered around and it turns out to be a mile behind, it's 1,100 inches in elevation and had done 22 times by this person here in the last 90 days and so i went out on monday and did it just for you, 22 times to dodge all the dog walkers on this dirt road, to the top of this ascent where has a view of about nothing it is 11 meters tall ß that's it that's about 1,100 centimeters t that's about 400 37 inches or I don't know how 30 feet, but besides the point now of course that's the best thing I've had to do 23 times in total in the last 90 days in mine Case i had an earlier attempt so i was only theoretical 22 times but i didn't really dare to count to 22 so many times so i only aim for 27 times i thought that would be a safe number once i got it up 27 if I were done, that would give me a buffer for any kind of counting errors along the way, which is probably good because I only end up doing it 26 times just because I think I've done it 27 times myGarmin is sinking and by default, my activities are all listed as private and I've set them to public.

This is important because the local legend status does not include private activities, only public activities and as soon as I made it public I got myself my new little local legend crown right there you see the laurel if I can tap on it you see my total effort 27 in the last 90 days and you can see me going up this ranking and when I go back right here actually on this particular activity ty we can crack it get more details on this you will see the locallegends is back when I go back go down you will also see listed below and if I tap on it I get that you are the local legend designator right there and I can actually see all my efforts, all 27 of my efforts on that day, the 26 plus those on May 3rd to have. In this case, I didn't mean to come on the come, I didn't try to land up there, I did a couple of likes, half-hearted attempts and I came in seventh in the leaderboard, which I'll take for you to see right there all the time DC can be a Rainmakerat number 7, but that wasn't the goal, the goal here was just to do a whole ton of times and I manage to do that and so I'll have that for the next 88 days or so worth mentioning if you guys want to see all the local legend statuses just tap the profile button and scroll down there and click segments and then you go to locallegends on the right and you can see all of your local legend titles that you currently hold, much like your coms or CRS in the middle, now of course I'm sure some of you or one of you are likely to go out and try to outperform that attempt I would argue en, fingers, to do that, you should probably do it in style, that is, you should do it in one session like I did, otherwise it's like using an e-bike or something I don't really mean, but I only say that when I've atone for sitting down, you should - anyway, hopefully you found this article interesting or useful entertaining or something like that if so, go ahead and wipe that off, paste it down there a or hit the subscribe button for a lot more sports the weather is getting warmer, all the things are warming up and you won't want to miss any future articles that you have a good time with

When should kids get gears on bikes? The smallest kids bikes don't need gears as they confuse young riders and just add weight. Our advice would be to avoid gears until they reach at least the 20″ wheel size – and even then consider if they're really necessary.
