Welcome to another fantastic GCN TECH unboxing and this week we have a ridiculously good price for you guys. One I'd like to win myself, but apparently I'm not allowed to take part. Anyway, not one, not two, but three very happy viewers will each win two pairs, yes, two pairs of brand new Oakley sunglasses and a replacement lens from Low Light Prizm.

Pretty great, huh. Right not yet and click the little bell icon as you will receive a notification every time we upload a article. So you don't miss a chance to win great prizes like this one. (Flick logo) Right them out of the boxes.

So many at Oakley. Even the boxes they come in are nice. They have a kind of two-tone color.

Then we have the soft safe covers inside. These are really useful for keeping bags and things safe while traveling. Keep them nice and protected.

So here we have the Oakley Jawbreakers.Special Edition. We also have the Oakley Sutros and a Low Light Prizm replacement lens for the Jawbreakers. So you can drive all year round, the low light Prizm lens is especially useful in winter, I was told.

And just to be clear, each of the winners will receive a pair of jawbreakers, sutros, and glasses. By my calculation, Oakleys have been worn by more Tour De France champions than any other brand of sunglasses and they have been a familiar sight for many years. First up, we have the Jawbreakers.

They've been around for a few years and are a familiar sight on the faces of Chris Froome, Mark Cavendish, Greg Van Avermaet and Alejandro Valverde. To name just a few. But these are no ordinary jawbreakers.

They are Tour De France Special Editions to celebrate the centenary of the Maillot Jaune. So you have a really nice matte black frame with lots of yellow details to celebrate the Maillot Jaune or the Yellow Jersey. Including those lovely yellow Oakley logos on the side.

My favorite little detail is the Tour De France logo down here. This is engraved on the Prizm Road lens. Prizm is Oakley's lens technology that is designed to enhance the contrast of a specific environment, so you can see more details.

Now Prizm Road is for the road and the goal is to better define the road surfaces so that you can better see things like potholes or road markings. They also made Prizm lenses for other environments. The Prizm Snow is therefore intended for use in the snow.

As you have probably guessed, and the Prizm Golf is designed to help you spot white balls in green fields. There are also many nice little functional details built into the glasses. So you have ventilation holes on the windshield so that it doesn't fog up.

Unobtainium nose piece and Unobtainium on the arms too. Well, this is not the fictional super high quality element mined on the moon by Pandora, the central element of the plot of James Cameron's blockbuster avatar. It's exactly what Oak Ley calls it's proprietary polymer that holds the glasses on the face while remaining comfortable.

protein powder without carrageenan

I mean, it stays in place. It's pretty good. Probably not just for cycling.

Maybe also ideal for moshing. (upbeate rock music) Anyway. The glasses are all shock tested and block 100% of the UV light.

Directly. Move on to the next pair. The sutros.

You are cool. They still have all of the features you'd expect from performance sunglasses. Great, you know the peripheral vision, but they're kind of a bit hip, less aggressively styled, more retro package.

And a bit more disco than the Jawbreakers. (upbeat disco music) This is exactly why they were created. Not for discos, but there was a trend where more and more drivers began to forego functionality by opting for glasses that didn't look as sporty or as serious as the Jawbreaker.

These non-cycling specific glasses often do not have the glasses optimized for the road conditions or the glasses wearers the special unobtainium polymer s to hold them in place or things like anti-fogging. So Oakley set out to develop glasses that were less aggressive and sporty than current designs, but still had the functionality. And the result is the sutro.

To me, they're like a modern take on Greg LeMond's iconic eyeglasses. A major difference between the Sutros and the Jawbreaker is that they are not designed to be interchangeable, so that the lens is attached to the glasses. The Jawbreakers literally breaks the jaw open and allows you to swap out different lenses for different environments, which is why we're also giving away the Prizm Low Light lens.

According to Oakley, it's designed to optimize details in low light and even artificial light without causing a color shift in your vision. I should have said there were only two prizes and then I could have kept the third set to myself. Why didn't I think of it earlier? Idiot.

Whatever. Now for the part you've all been waiting for. How do I get M Do you have these fantastic Oakley sunglasses in your hand? Well it is really easy.

Is polarized or photochromic better?

Polarized lenses reduce glare wherever they can: on bright, horizontal surfaces, such as white sand beaches, snow, and sunlight reflecting off water. Why are cycling sunglasses not polarized?
